Our Ipé (pronounced "Ee-Pay") wood is the 1st Grade, which means that it is the best available.It is air dried and seasoned for additional stability and finished on 4 sides with eased edges. Ipe is among the most durable lumbers on earth, with exceptional resistance to decay, rot, and insect attack.Because of these natural resilience it is the first choice for all domestic, commercial, and exterior decking ,façade & Cladding.


Characteristics

Ipé wood has a natural, rich, dark brown colour with occasional yellow tints and yellowish-brown. If left unstained it will gradually age to a lighter brown with grey overtones. However, Ipé can be stained to retain its rich, dark brown colour or it can be stained to give it a glossier finish

    Ipe grows throughout the tropical regions of South America and Central America. Like so many other exotic tropical hardwoods, Ipe is found in the rainforests regions of the Americas. The Brazilian rainforest which extends into Bolivia, Peru, Columbia, Venezuela, Equador and the Guyanas, is the most heterogeneous forest in the world.
